About the role.

This is a temporary, 4-month contract position. The person will be responsible for mixing batter to product specifications to create optimal batter product. Works closely with Fryer Operator to ensure achieve quality product.

What you'll be doing.

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Operates all of the equipment associated with the mixing and application of French Fry batter.
  • Cross trained in all Fryer equipment so as to be able to break the Fryer Operator.
  • Must be willing and able to assist Fryer Operator on boil-outs.
  • Ensures ingredients and equipment are free of foreign material and are in good condition to prevent contamination of the product.
  • Follows mixing procedures precisely and monitors the consistency of the batter to ensure adequate coverage of the product.
  • Formulates proper ingredient mixtures for different products.
  • Maintains a strict inventory of raw ingredients and ensures proper rotation.
  • Maintains all required documentation.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the area.

This position is based in a regulated manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Employees must consistently follow all GMP, safety, and hygiene requirements, including restrictions on jewelry, personal items, and attire while on the production floor. Compliance with these standards is an essential duty of the role to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

What you'll need to be successful.

  • High School Graduate
  • Able to work shift work on a rotating basis
  • Able to recognize "In Control and Out of Control" parameters with color teaching and adjustments of equipment.
  • Must have a proven history of safe work habits.
  • Familiarity within process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database (SAP).
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.
  • Effective written, oral, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adheres to all Company rules, regulations and policies and all relevant rules, regulations and policies.
  • Must be willing to train in Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection, Hoisting and Rigging, Forklift and Scissor/Boom Lift (height min 20')
  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
  • Mechanically inclined

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment
  • Physically capable of performing job duties (e.g., lifting 40 - 50 lbs. of potatoes when required)
  • Able to climb stairs to check equipment and product.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 33.26 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
