Electrical Technician
Location: Elkhart, IN
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Hourly pay: 30–45 hour / OT 1.5

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be local to the Elkhart, IN area

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance, and restores, repairs, or replaces faulty or inoperative equipment as needed.


Essential Functions:
  • Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and apparatus
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
  • Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications
  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • Advise management on continued use of unreliable or unsafe equipment
  • Perform and document calibrations on electrical equipment
  • Tune drives on various equipment to optimize performance
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation for facility coverage

Safety Responsibilities:
  • Follow all plant and departmental safety rules
  • Operate all equipment and tools safely
  • Complete non-routine safety evaluations for irregular tasks
  • Take responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and compliant manner

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an electrical technician
  • Experience operating forklifts (electric and gas), scissor lifts, and JLG aerial equipment preferred

Skills & Abilities:
  • Technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, and equipment modification
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify equipment issues and perform maintenance independently
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and databases)
