Coverage Area: Worcester/Central MA: Worcester, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, Westborough, Southborough, Marlborough, Framingham, Holliston, Boxborough, and surrounding communities. This route includes a significant combination of scheduled inspections and dispatched alarm response.

About the Position

This is a mobile, driving-based security position—not a traditional stationary security assignment.

As a Mobile Security Officer, you will operate an assigned Securitas patrol vehicle and travel between multiple client properties throughout your designated region. You will work independently along an assigned route, completing scheduled security services, following client-specific instructions, documenting your work, and responding appropriately when something is wrong.

Assignments may include scheduled or randomized patrol inspections, alarm response, guard checks, temporary site coverage, opening or securing facilities, and other site-specific security services. Officers remain in communication with the Securitas operations team throughout their shift.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working independently, driving, visiting different locations, and taking responsibility for completing an assigned route accurately and on time.

Important Driving Requirement

A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Securitas Safe Driving requirements are required for this position.

Mobile Security Officers operate a company patrol vehicle for a significant portion of each shift. Officers must consistently follow all traffic laws, posted speed limits, seatbelt requirements, and Securitas vehicle-safety policies.

Securitas patrol vehicles are equipped with Samsara vehicle-safety technology that monitors driving activity and behavior. Candidates must be comfortable operating a monitored company vehicle and receiving safety coaching when appropriate.

Safe and responsible driving is an essential function of this position. Candidates must be willing and able to follow company driving expectations throughout every shift.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely operate an assigned Securitas patrol vehicle throughout the shift.
  • Travel between multiple client properties along an assigned route.
  • Complete assigned services within established timeframes and service windows.
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrol inspections according to client-specific instructions.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, parking areas, doors, windows, gates, access points, lighting, alarm systems, and other security-related equipment.
  • Identify and report unauthorized access, forced entry, vandalism, suspicious activity, property damage, safety hazards, leaks, blocked exits, and other unusual conditions.
  • Complete locking, unlocking, arming, disarming, key-control, and access-related duties when assigned and properly trained.
  • Respond to alarm activations and other dispatched calls, assess conditions from a safe position, and follow established notification and escalation procedures.
  • Contact the Securitas operations team, emergency services, client representatives, or supervisors when required.
  • Conduct guard checks, employee welfare checks, and temporary site coverage when assigned.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, employees, visitors, dispatchers, supervisors, and emergency personnel.
  • Use smartphones, GPS navigation, mobile applications, and digital reporting systems to document patrol activity, observations, and actions taken.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed activity and incident reports, including photographs when required.
  • Immediately report security concerns, route delays, missed services, vehicle problems, accidents, or situations requiring additional assistance.
  • Securely maintain assigned keys, access devices, equipment, and patrol vehicles.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Driving record that meets Securitas Safe Driving requirements.
  • Willingness to operate a company vehicle equipped with Samsara vehicle-safety monitoring.
  • Ability to follow traffic laws and company driving policies consistently.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports.
  • Comfort using smartphones, GPS navigation, mobile applications, and digital reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, manage time, and remain accountable for completing an assigned route.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm during alarm responses, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and emergencies.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to report to work on time.
  • Availability to work an agreed-upon schedule, which may include overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned coverage area and occasionally assist outside the primary region when operationally necessary.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently enter and exit a patrol vehicle.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs while completing patrol inspections.
  • Ability to patrol indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to remain alert and observant throughout the assigned shift.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in security, mobile patrol, alarm response, military service, law enforcement, public safety, facilities operations, delivery services, or another position involving independent fieldwork and professional driving.
  • Experience completing incident reports, conducting property inspections, managing keys or access devices, or responding to dispatched calls.
  • Familiarity with the roads and communities within the assigned coverage area.
  • Previous experience working independently and managing an assigned route or workload.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional, approachable demeanor.
