HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE SUBSTITUTE 'GUEST' TEACHER (CHEMISTRY PREFERRED)

VACANCY:ย  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary science substitute guest' teaching position (chemistry preferred) for the 2026-2027 school year.ย 

DATES:ย  August 31, 2026 - December 3, 2026ย 

JOB SUMMARY: The teacher is responsible to the building principal for: planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.ย 

QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

  • Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a science endorsement.
  • Successful 9-12 teaching experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriateย  recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of current teaching techniques
  • Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.
  • Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to participate in co-curricular programs as a sponsor, supervisor, or coachย ย 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Long-term substitute teaching assignments exceeding 20 days: $215 per day.ย
