Job description

Job Title: General Production Associate
Job Description

Join a long-established custom rubber compounding and mixing facility as a General Production Associate, where you will support key stages of the rubber manufacturing process. You will start by palletizing finished rubber products and, as you demonstrate reliability and skill, you will receive cross-training in batching, mixing support, and machine operation. This role is ideal for someone with strong attendance, a go‑getter mentality, and a willingness to work in a physically demanding, dirty manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Palletize manufactured rubber by taking long strips from the production line and weaving them neatly onto pallets for shipment to customers.
  • Arrange rubber strips back and forth and cross-weave them multiple times to create organized, stable pallets of rubber.
  • Start in an entry-level production role and learn standard operating procedures for handling and organizing rubber products.
  • Support batching operations by pulling ingredients and compounds according to work orders and weighing them accurately to prepare mixes for rubber production.
  • Assist the mixer by staging materials, monitoring the flow of product, and helping ensure efficient mixing operations.
  • Unload rubber from the mixer and help cut it into specified strips according to production requirements.
  • Operate general production and material handling equipment as trained, following all safety and quality guidelines.
  • Work as part of a production team, coordinating with colleagues at individual stations to complete daily production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the constraints of a dirty manufacturing environment, following safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and trainers, ask questions when needed, and actively participate in cross-training opportunities.
Essential Skills
  • Previous production or general labor experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong and reliable attendance, verifiable through references.
  • Willingness to work in a very dirty manufacturing environment with exposure to rubber dust.
  • Go‑getter mentality with a strong work ethic and readiness to learn multiple production tasks.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing for long periods, lifting, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to follow detailed work orders and instructions for batching, weighing, and palletizing.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to work safely around machines and production equipment.
  • Ability to work both independently at a station and collaboratively as part of a production team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift operation experience, particularly with sit-down propane forklifts, is a plus.
  • Willingness to train on forklift operation after being hired on directly, if needed.
  • Previous experience with palletizing, machine operation, or general production is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with rubber materials and in an environment with airborne dust.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate batching, weighing, and product organization.
Why Work Here?

You will join a stable, long-term opportunity with a company that has been providing high-quality rubber compounds and service for decades. As you grow in the role, you will have the chance to go direct and gain access to a strong benefits package. The organization values cross-training, giving you the opportunity to develop new skills in batching, mixing support, and equipment operation, and to build a long-term career in manufacturing.

Work Environment

The role is based in a custom rubber compounding and mixing facility consisting of three buildings. The environment is very dirty due to the nature of rubber production, and you will be exposed to rubber dust that will accumulate on clothing by the end of the day. You will work at individual stations while collaborating as part of a broader team to complete daily production goals. The work involves operating and working around production machinery, handling rubber materials, and potentially using equipment such as forklifts once trained. Dress should be practical and suitable for a dirty, physically demanding manufacturing setting, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided according to site requirements.
