Job description

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and records all incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares finished products for delivery, and ensures that all materials move accurately and efficiently through the facility. This role supports inventory control, maintains shipping supplies, and helps keep the shipping department organized, safe, and productive.

Responsibilities
  • Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Examine all outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Compare identifying information such as counts, weights, and measures for all incoming and outgoing items against shipping and receiving records.
  • Affix appropriate labels on packed cartons and attach packing slips as required.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments to confirm accuracy and condition.
  • Take appropriate steps to receive items, including rejecting damaged items and completing required documentation.
  • Route received items to the correct department or designated storage area.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of shipping materials and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Direct others in preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments when needed.
  • Load and unload shipments on pallets using appropriate equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Perform data entry to record inventory transactions and shipment details accurately.
  • Support inventory control activities by helping track stock levels and movements.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in a shipping and receiving department.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Proficiency with data entry for recording inventory and shipment information.
  • Experience with inventory control and maintaining accurate stock records.

  • Forklift experience for loading and unloading pallets and materials.

Work Environment

The environment is active and hands-on, requiring comfort with physical work and movement throughout the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Broken Arrow, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
