Job Overview:

The Window Washer is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preserving the appearance of exterior and interior glass surfaces throughout a large-scale event center. This position ensures all windows, curtain walls, skylights, glass doors, and related surfaces remain clean, safe, and presentable for guests, tenants, visitors, and event attendees. The role requires adherence to all OSHA, New York City, and company safety regulations while working at heights and around occupied public spaces.

Essential Functions:

Clean interior and exterior windows, curtain wall systems, glass doors, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Perform high-rise and elevated window cleaning using approved equipment, lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, or rope-access systems as assigned.
Remove dirt, stains, water spots, adhesive residue, and environmental contaminants from glass surfaces.
Conduct routine inspections to identify damaged glass, seals, frames, or related building components.
Set up safety barriers and warning signs in work areas to protect guests, employees, and contractors.
Operate and maintain window-cleaning equipment, pressure washers, water-fed pole systems, lifts, and related tools.
Follow all OSHA regulations, NYC safety requirements, and company safety procedures.
Coordinate cleaning schedules to minimize disruption to events, tenants, and facility operations.
Report maintenance concerns, hazards, and repair needs to management.
Assist with special projects, post-construction cleaning, and event preparation activities as needed.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Keep work areas organized, clean, and free from safety hazards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 year of commercial window-cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures.
Ability to safely operate ladders, aerial lifts, and suspended access equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Certifications

OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
Aerial Lift Certification.
Suspended Scaffold User Certification.
Rope Access (SPRAT or IRATA) Certification, if applicable.
First Aid/CPR Certification.

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights exceeding 100 feet when required.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

This role will be working under union.

Pay Range / Salary: $35.22 per hour
