Job Title

Registered Nurse โ€“ Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Mid Shift (12-Hour Shifts Available)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a combined Emergency and Urgent Care department with 38 beds and 5 trauma bays/resuscitation rooms at an Adult and Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Triage patients arriving by ambulance and via walk-in triage bays; all nurses including travelers are expected to perform triage
  • Manage and monitor patients with common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, sepsis, syncope, elevated heart rate, headache, and suicidal ideation
  • Administer and monitor common drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, and norepinephrine
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers (PAs, NPs), charge nurses, paramedics, and support staff to deliver coordinated patient care
  • Draw labs, monitor cardiac rhythms on GE monitors, and assist with or escalate respiratory equipment concerns to Respiratory Therapy as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NIHSS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Current TNCC certification (ENPC encouraged but not required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience
  • Pediatric emergency care experience
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
