Temporary remote tasks are short-term work assignments that can be completed from any location with internet access. These jobs are usually project-based or involve specific duties that do not require a long-term commitment with an employer. Common examples include data entry, online research, content moderation, or virtual assistant work. Temporary remote tasks are ideal for those seeking flexible work arrangements or supplementary income, and they can often be found on freelance or gig work platforms.

What are some common challenges faced when working in a temporary remote task role, and how can they be managed?

One common challenge in temporary remote task roles is adjusting quickly to new tools and workflows, as each assignment may use different platforms or processes. Additionally, communication can be more difficult due to the short-term nature and lack of established relationships with team members. To manage these challenges, it's important to be proactive in asking questions, familiarize yourself with provided resources early, and maintain clear, prompt communication with supervisors. Staying organized and adaptable will help you complete tasks efficiently and make a positive impression for potential future opportunities.

Job description

Equivity is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys handling a wide range of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, slip and fall cases, dog bites, wrongful death, medical-related injury matters, product liability, catastrophic injury claims, worker’s compensation and other negligence-based cases.
In this role, you’ll work as part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while remaining fully supported by Equivity’s internal operations and leadership. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong personal injury experience who can manage active case files, communicate professionally with clients and providers, track deadlines, and thrive in a remote environment.
What You’ll Do:
  • Manage personal injury matters throughout all phases of the case, from intake and investigation through settlement, litigation, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure deadlines, follow-ups, and case activities are completed timely.
  • Draft, edit, and assist with correspondence, demand packages, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, settlement documents, and other case-related materials.
  • Support pre-litigation case development, including client intake, client communication, insurance claim management, medical record and bill collection, lien tracking, investigation, and demand preparation.
  • Support litigation matters following the filing of a complaint, including service of process, discovery management, deposition coordination, motion practice support, mediation preparation, and trial preparation.
  • Request, organize, review, and summarize medical records, bills, police reports, insurance documents, witness statements, photographs, and other supporting evidence.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and other parties.
  • Track treatment progress, case milestones, statutes of limitation, litigation deadlines, and attorney task assignments.
  • Coordinate e-filings, hearings, depositions, mediations, expert appointments, and other case-related events.
  • Prepare exhibits, witness lists, mediation materials, trial binders, and other supporting litigation documents.
  • Assist with settlement administration, lien resolution, closing documentation, and final case wrap-up.
About You:
  • 3+ years of personal injury law experience
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours/week to start
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skill
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with legal software (Clio or similar is a plus)
  • Experience with personal injury software like FileVine or CASEPeer a plus
  • Windows-based computer preferred
  • Availability and responsiveness within 1 hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Why You’ll Love Working Here
At Equivity, you are part of a dedicated, internally managed team of legal professionals—not a temporary placement. We provide ongoing work with established attorneys while maintaining the flexibility of remote work. You’ll be supported by an experienced operations team and work in a collaborative, professional environment that values quality and long-term relationships.
Compensation and benefits:
  • $26 per hour
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid sick time and employee discounts
  • Annual performance bonuses
  • 6-month pay review with potential hourly increase based on performance
  • Reimbursement of certain expenses
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities
  • Supportive and inclusive remote work culture
