**THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION, EXPECTED TO LAST THROUGH SEPTEMBER 1, 2026!**

Purpose: The Flight Crew Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Avelo Airlines by developing and managing flight crew schedules in accordance with safety regulations and company needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain flight crew schedules that comply with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 117 and 121, company policies, and pilot/flight attendant union contracts.
  • Analyze flight operations and crew duty times to ensure adherence to legal rest requirements (including Flight Duty Periods (FDPs) and minimum rest periods and avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Address schedule changes and disruptions due to weather, maintenance issues, or crew member absences. This may involve contacting reserve crew members and arranging logistics (transportation, accommodation).
  • Maintain clear communication with flight crews regarding their schedules, updates, and any changes.
  • Utilize scheduling software to efficiently manage crew assignments, track duty times, and monitor compliance with FAR regulations.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers, operations personnel, and people department to ensure smooth flight operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of crew schedules, duty times, and qualifications.


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in airline operations or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of FAR Parts 117 and 121 regulations, including Flight Duty Periods (FDPs), rest requirements, and fatigue risk management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
  • Must be a US citizen or possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays due to the nature of airline operations.


X-Factors:

  • Familiarity with NAVBLUE or similar flight crew systems
  • Flight Attendant or Airport Operations experience
