Position Title: Summer Camp Temporary Studio ROCKS TeacherDepartment: Family and Community Services

Primary Purpose of the Job: The Summer Camp Temporary Studio ROCKS Teacher will provide supervision and instructional support to school-age children (K-4th) during the 8 weeks of summer camp. These services may include implementation of special curriculum and activities for academic enrichment and related to performing and visual arts. The teacher assistant has to be able to establish strong relationships with the students and their families, supporting their socio-emotional development, and building a nurturing, developmentally-appropriate environment.
Essential Duties:1)Assist in any prepared lesson plans aligned to the program goals and students' competences
2)Engage positively with the students and their families, creating a responsive environment
3)Support students' academic competence, providing help with summer camp packages, while expanding and enriching their language in an integrated contex t that incorporates the arts
4)Build and maintain positive disposition toward colleagues and the community
5)Assist in any classrooms/ program field trips,
6)Assist in creating and set up classrooms into learning centers aligned to the program' s objectives and educational approach in age-appropriate ways
7)Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in program activities, which include, but are not limited to team building initiatives, physical activities or games, and or any other activities
8)Follow policies related to student supervision and mandated reporting
9)Follow the program' s studios, and activities planned all aligned to the camp' s theme.
10)Assist in organizing and clean up progress in the classroom.
11)Comply with professional development requirements from OSSE and CentroNia
12)Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Core Competencies: Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a team setting. Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Required Experience: 0 - 3 years working with school age children and youth.
Required Education: Have worked with school age students/ and or are pursuing in working in Education. Bilingual Spanish/ English highly preferred.
Required Licenses: CPR/First Aid Certified
Working Conditions: Non-profit community based organization, bilingual multicultural environment.
Expected Work hours: Able to work shift hours as needed (Flexible Hours)
