What is a temporary quality custom distribution QCD?

Temporary Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) jobs typically involve short-term positions focused on ensuring the quality and accuracy of customized products or materials as they are distributed to clients or customers. These roles may require inspecting products, verifying order specifications, and maintaining records to ensure standards are met. Employees in these positions often work in warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing environments and must pay close attention to detail. QCD jobs are ideal for individuals seeking flexible, project-based work with a focus on logistics and quality assurance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a temporary quality custom distribution QCD?

To excel as a Temporary Quality Associate at Quality Custom Distribution (QCD), you typically need knowledge of food safety standards, quality control processes, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools like HACCP systems, warehouse management software, and basic laboratory equipment is often required. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective teamwork are crucial soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations within a fast-paced distribution environment.

What are common challenges faced by a temporary quality custom distribution QCD, and how can they be addressed?

As a Temporary Quality Associate at QCD, you may encounter challenges such as quickly adapting to established quality control procedures, maintaining high standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and ensuring consistent communication between shifts. To address these, it’s important to familiarize yourself with QCD’s food safety protocols, ask questions during training, and maintain open lines of communication with both your team and supervisors. Proactively seeking feedback and collaborating with permanent staff can also help you excel in this temporary role.

Description

ASG Power designs and builds high-quality custom electrical enclosures and control panels across a range of industries including water/wastewater, oil and gas, manufacturing, and the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector. As a UL 508A certified shop with capabilities in UL 98B and UL 1741, we bring cutting-edge solutions to life - from PLC control panels to power distribution panels for PV and hydrogen fuel cell systems.

As we expand our footprint in the renewables and data center markets, we're looking for talented individuals to join our growing team and be part of an exciting new phase of innovation and product development.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Electrical AutoCAD Draftsman to bridge the gap between our engineering and sales departments. This is an ideal role for an early- to mid-career CAD professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in shaping new product initiatives and capturing new markets.

This is more than just a drafting role - it's a dynamic, cross-functional position that offers room to grow, learn, and make a significant impact in a company on the move.

Requirements

This role requires working on-site at our office five days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support:
    • Create high-quality 2D/3D concept sketches and layout drawings for quoting purposes.
    • Collaborate with sales engineers to visualize customer needs and present clear, professional proposals quickly and accurately.
    • Assist in the development of sales collateral through technical illustrations and specifications.
  • Engineering Support:
    • Update and maintain mechanical and electrical CAD drawings in support of panel design and production.
    • Interpret engineering notes, schematics, and component specifications to produce accurate design documents.
    • Contribute to the design of PLC control panels, custom power distribution systems, and other specialized equipment.
  • CAD Management:
    • Help maintain and improve our CAD symbol library and drawing standards.
    • Collaborate on the development of new drafting and modeling processes for increased efficiency and quality.

What You'll Work On:

  • Custom electrical enclosures for a range of industries
  • Power distribution and control panels for renewable energy systems (PV, hydrogen)
  • Disconnects, combiners, recombiners, fused disconnects
  • Bus bar systems and high-current applications
  • Drafting and visualizing concepts for fast-paced quoting and prototyping

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • 2+ years of experience in drafting, CAD, or related technical support role
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD Inventor
    • Strong ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and mechanical layout drawings
    • Technical school training in drafting/CAD, an associate's degree in engineering technology, or similar background
    • Exposure to industrial electrical systems and components
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with electrical panel design or industrial equipment
    • Familiarity with UL standards (UL 508A, 98B, 1741)
    • Prior work in fast-paced or custom manufacturing environments

Why You'll Love Working With Us:

  • Be part of cutting-edge product development for the renewables and data center markets
  • Collaborate with a driven, experienced team where your ideas matter
  • Work on diverse, technically challenging projects with real-world impact
  • Opportunities for growth, learning, and cross-training
  • A workplace culture that values innovation, speed, and quality
