Mission of Role/Position Summary:

The AI Solutions Support Specialist supports the Data, Technology & Innovation (DTI) team in the development and application of AI-driven tools and process improvements. This role focuses on assisting with the analysis, prototyping, and support of AI-enabled solutions that enhance internal operations and project-based workflows.

The position emphasizes practical application of AI technologies, such as automation, data analysis, and natural language processing, within defined business use cases. The specialist will work under the direction of the DTI team to support ongoing initiatives, contribute to solution development, and help ensure outputs are accurate, usable, and aligned with organizational needs.

This role is designed as a junior/entry-level technical support position within AI initiatives and does not involve independent ownership or deployment of production AI systems.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Support the DTI team in identifying opportunities to apply AI-driven solutions to improve business processes and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in the design, prototyping, and support of AI tools and applications for internal and client-facing use cases.
  • Analyze existing workflows and operational processes to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
  • Support data analysis efforts involving structured and unstructured data to generate insights and inform decision-making.
  • Assist in validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Troubleshoot operational and technical issues related to AI-supported tools and workflows under team guidance.
  • Document processes, methodologies, assumptions, and findings to support transparency, repeatability, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to support collaboration and understand business needs.
  • Conduct research on emerging AI tools, frameworks, and best practices relevant to organizational objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of work, documentation, and progress across assigned tasks and projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Technical Knowledge:

  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts, including machine learning, natural language processing, and automation
  • Familiarity with data analysis concepts and tools
  • Awareness of AI-assisted workflows and practical business applications

Programming and Tools:

  • Basic experience with one or more of the following: Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, or R
  • Familiarity with data manipulation, scripting, or prototyping environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 tools; familiarity with Power Platform or similar tools is a plus

AI Application & Governance:

  • Understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals and AI-assisted workflows
  • Awareness of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, confidentiality, and output validation
  • Ability to work within established governance and security guidelines

Analytical Skills:

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

  • All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
  • If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (in progress or completed) in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.
  • 1+ year experience with foundations of AI concepts such as machine learning, natural language processing, and automation
  • 1+ year experience with data analysis tools or platforms
  • 1+ year experience or coursework involving programming (e.g., Python, SQL, R, or similar)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS365.

Preferred Experience:

  • Reside within reasonable local daily commuting distance to Denver, CO. While this position is remote, some onsite work is required.
  • Educational GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited higher education program.
  • 1+ year experience with hands-on work with AI tools, labs, simulations, or applied coursework
  • 1+ year exposure to workflow automation, data analysis, or business process improvement
  • 1+ year experience working in team-based or cross-functional environments
  • 1+ year exposure to project coordination, documentation, or administrative support roles
  • Any experience participating in technical competitions or practical challenges (e.g., CCDC, NCL, hackathons)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
