Job Title: Production Line Leader
Job Description

The Production Line Leader oversees the daily operation of a manufacturing line to ensure safety, efficiency, product quality, and appropriate staffing levels. This role provides hands-on leadership by training and guiding production employees, coordinating line changeovers, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and applying lean manufacturing principles. The Production Line Leader supports continuous improvement initiatives while actively operating equipment alongside the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the production line to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
  • Monitor production activities to maintain product quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with established standards.
  • Lead, train, and coach production employees on proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
  • Coordinate line changeovers to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Operate production equipment alongside the team to support throughput and demonstrate best practices.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues in real time to reduce delays and maintain line balance.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify waste, improve flow, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting and implementing process and workflow enhancements.
  • Track basic production data and metrics to support scheduling, performance monitoring, and decision-making.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that team members understand priorities and expectations.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing the use of required personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and other departments to coordinate activities across shifts and lines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 1+ year of leadership or training experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production flow and line balance.
  • Mechanical aptitude with fast-paced production equipment.
  • Machine operating experience, including at least 3+ years operating production machinery.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Leadership communication skills with the ability to guide and influence a production team.
  • Experience in quality control and quality assurance within a production line setting.
  • Intermediate math skills and the ability to track and interpret production data.
  • Ability to train, delegate, and solve problems in real time on the production floor.

  • Experience using RF guns and related warehouse or production computer systems (preferred).
  • Comfort working with production metrics, scheduling, and operational decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Why Work Here?

You join a global manufacturing organization with modern facilities and the scale to support your long-term growth. This role offers a true step-up leadership opportunity with direct reports and meaningful influence on daily operations. You benefit from exposure to production metrics, scheduling, and operational decision-making, creating a clear development path into formal supervisory roles over time.

Work Environment

You work in a manufacturing environment that may include temperature extremes, noise, dust, wet conditions, and possible exposure to chemicals.
