Description
Job Title: Estate Groundskeeper
Reports to: Property Manager
Technical land management with hands-on property maintenance. The Estate Groundskeeper is responsible for the year-round beauty functionality of the property's outdoor spaces. The hands-on role involves maintaining wooded trails, managing large fields, performing landscape work and executing minor repairs to ensure the estate remains in pristine condition.
Duties:
  • Trail Management
    • Maintain and clear hunting/walking trails for overgrowth, fallen brush, and debris.
    • Conduct regular inspections for safety hazards and monitor the health of wooded areas.
    • Perform thinning, pruning, and removal of damaged or unwanted trees/branches.
  • Field & Turf Care
    • Mow and maintain large fields, meadows, and lawns using tractors and heavy-duty mowers.
    • Perform edging, fertilizing and seasonal weed control.
    • Help maintain and monitor irrigation systems, fountains and ponds
  • Minor Maintenance & Repair:
    • Perform basic repairs on fences, gates, paths, and outbuildings.
    • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on landscaping equipment and estate vehicles.
    • Coordinate with service vendors for additional vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
    • Help support seasonal events and venue preparations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven background in groundskeeping, landscaping, forestry or private estate service.
  • Equipment operation: Proficiency in safety operating tractors, mowers, chains and various handheld tools.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform demanding manual labor in all weather conditions including heavy lifting items and walking uneven terrain.
  • Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and high level of discretion for private estate settings.

Certification:
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Commercial driver's license, pesticide or fertilizer application licenses are a plus.
