Job Title: Welder (2nd Shift)
Location: East Granby, CT
Pay Rate: $25 - $40/hr + 15% Shift Differential (DoE)
Job Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Schedule: (2nd shift) - Monday-Friday: 3:30pm - 12:00am

Position Details:
2nd Shift (Monday-Friday: 3:30pm - 12:00am)
Experience & Skill Requirements:
* 5-10 years of welding experience required
* Aerospace manufacturing experience is required.
* Strong TIG welding experience is required, with demonstrated proficiency in precision aerospace applications.
* Experience welding thin-gauge materials, particularly material thicknesses ranging from approximately .050" to .090".
* Hands-on experience welding a majority of the following materials:
- Stainless steel
- Titanium
- Inconel
* Candidates should have experience supporting aerospace products and/or programs, with resumes clearly demonstrating the types of products manufactured and the customers or companies supported.
* Resumes should provide specific details regarding welding processes, materials, product applications, and aerospace customers/programs to demonstrate relevant experience.
* Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material)
* Candidates will be required to pass the welding certification tests for current materials used in the shop
* Read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets
* Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes
* Complete required quarterly process control samples
* Complete logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performed
* Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices
* Able to successfully multitask in manufacturing cell work environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skill
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Role/Responsibilities:
* Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
* Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
* Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions using complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable).
* Dimensionally inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
* Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects.
* Work outside department as required
* Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times
* Follow all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment
* Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material)
