Job description

We are seeking a hands-on and highly organized Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day human resources functions of our medical manufacturing facility. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees and works closely with the Plant Manager, Quality team, department supervisors, and staffing agencies to ensure a productive, compliant, and positive work environment.


Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related matters.
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary actions, attendance, and performance issues in partnership with the Plant Manager.
  • Review employee time punches and ensure time-off requests are properly submitted and approved.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews and support hiring and onboarding as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee interviews as needed.
  • Work with managers to identify staffing needs and hiring requirements.
  • Assist with candidate screening, selection, and onboarding.
  • Manage relationships and daily communication with temporary staffing agencies.
  • Submit weekly staffing orders and request additional personnel when needed.
  • Communicate attendance, performance, conduct, and other concerns regarding agency employees to agency representatives.
  • Train new employees and maintain accurate, up-to-date training files in coordination with the Quality team.
  • Ensure employees understand and comply with company policies and the Employee Handbook.
  • Coordinate employee meetings, announcements, birthdays, company events, and employee engagement activities.
  • Support a positive, professional, and compliant workplace environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of employee matters. 


Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Education: Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 


Communication skills: Bilingual (English and Spanish). Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.


Technical Proficiencies: Proficient in HRIS Systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Chrome) Working knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws. Experience working with ADP Workforce now and time and attendance preferred.
