Job description

Summary: The Pipeline Pigging Assistant is responsible for safe on-site pigging operations, maintenance, equipment installation. Ensuring equipment performs within acceptable parameters. They will be under the supervision of the District Manager, Pipeline Pigging Operations Manager and Field Supervisors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and safe working environment
  • Operate and maintain company vehicle/s and equipment at all times to ensure their personal safety along with the equipment they will operate
  • Make any and all repairs deemed reasonable and safe
  • Control and minimize repair expenses through a strong preventative maintenance program
  • Comply with HS&E Policies and Safety Program
  • Always act in a professional manner while representing FESCO, Ltd.
  • Assist in equipment maintenance pre-job and post job
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment, on job sites and in shop
  • Completes all paperwork as required
  • Assists in rig up of temporary equipment on job sites and in shop, (i.e., temporary piping, pig traps, separators, flares, etc.)
  • Assist in pipeline pigging operations, (i.e., pig launching and receiving, liquid separation, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and or Supervisor

Education, Professional Licensure and Certifications:

  • High School/GED
  • The Pigging Assistant must be able to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) commensurate with his or her classification and DOT regulations

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hand and fingers to feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms , and taste or smell. The Pigging Assistant frequently is required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. They must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision, peripheral vision along with depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of the job, employees regularly work outside in all weather conditions. Job duties are frequently conducted in hazardous environments, FRC's are required to be worn. The Pigging Assistant frequently works in areas exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The are exposed to various types of chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

There will be extensive travel and time away from home with this job, hourly pay with overtime anddailyJPI (job performance incentive) bonus. The JPI will be commensurate with abilities to move from Pigging Trainee to Pigging Assistant.
