Job description

The Physical Therapy Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a full time temporary Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team! This position will sit in 120 West 106th Street, NY, NY 10025.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide specific physical therapy treatments and related duties as assigned, in a manner that is consistent with The New Jewish Home mission, vision and values.

Job Duties:

  • Performs the physical therapy program of residents/patients as planned and directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the application and use of heat,cold,light, water, sound and massage.
  • Carries out positioning and exercise programs.
  • Coaches and trains residents/patients in exercises, ambulation and activities of daily living.
  • Performs responsibilities appropriate to the established physical therapy services.
  • Observes and reports the resident's/patient's responses to the Physical Therapist.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
