Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an R&D Formulation Technician for a 6-month contract opportunity in Marlborough, MA. This on-site role supports the development of advanced spin-on photolithography materials used in semiconductor applications, offering hands-on exposure to cutting-edge materials science, formulation development, and applied research.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist or engineer with laboratory experience to contribute to innovative product development from research through commercialization. The role offers a collaborative R&D environment, supportive technical leadership, and the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional research, engineering, and application teams on high-impact semiconductor materials projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory experiments and scientific investigations to support the development of new materials, formulations, and technologies.
- Prepare accurate technical documentation, including observations, analyses, reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative data.
- Support evaluation of new scientific concepts, structure-property relationships, and applied research initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during product development, validation, scale-up, and commercialization activities.
- Troubleshoot formulation and material development challenges using analytical testing methods and root cause investigation techniques.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment while following established lab safety procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $22 to $34 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract, 6 months.

Additional Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Support development of advanced spin-on photolithography materials for semiconductor applications.
- Conduct formulation, materials science, and laboratory testing activities in support of R&D initiatives.
- Document technical results, experimental observations, protocols, and research findings.
- Collaborate with research, engineering, and application teams to support product development and commercialization.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience in materials science, chemical synthesis, formulations, or product development.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Ability to conduct analytical, experimental, investigative, and fact-finding activities in a research environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced technical environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with photolithography, photo-patterning, or semiconductor fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with computational modeling, scientific computing, or laboratory data management tools.
- Experience supporting products from research and development through commercialization.
