Job Description
Pay Rate $29/hour
Schedule: part time overnight and swing shift
Required Certification:
  • Valid California Boat Operating Card or Temporary Permit (at time of hire.)
  • Valid BSIS Guard Card (Current).
  • Valid BSIS Exposed Weapons Permit (Current).
  • Valid BSIS OC Spray Permit (Issued within the last 2 years)
  • Valid all Ages and Child CPR Certification (CPR is preferred but not required at hiring.)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operation and support of a patrol sea vessels in the designated area of responsibility, in congruence with waterborne operations.
  • Monitoring and observation of the area of waterborne operations and immediate surrounding area of U.S Naval Assets.
  • Deterrence of waterside breaches in to the BAE assigned areas or responsibility.
  • Challenging and verification for authorization of any government or commercial vessels, that are scheduled for entry to security zones in the areas of responsibility.
  • Monitoring of the airspace above the areas of responsibility for any possible aerial threats.
  • Monitoring and observance outside of the areas of responsibilities in line with client policy and OPSNAV 009-72.
  • Monitoring and observance of the area of responsibility for any hazards to navigation or foreign objects that might pose a threat to U.S. Naval assets and client vessels.
  • Patrol and enforce practices set in the OPSNAV 009-72 in outgoing or incoming of U.S. Naval assets to the areas of responsibility.
  • Patrols of the waterborne areas of responsibility.
  • Rapid Response to U.S. Navy requests for waterside investigations within the areas of responsibilities.
  • Execution of Random Anti- Terrorism Measures as instructed by OPSNAV 009-72 and Client direction.
  • Incident investigation and reporting of any uncommon events or emergent situations within or around the areas of responsibility.
  • Communication with landside security forces and coordination in congruence with waterborne operational standards.
  • Communications with the Allied Universal Account Manager and Assistant Account Manager as needed.
  • Communications via the use of Mar-band radio and best practices with Government, law enforcement and civilian vessels while underway in the areas of responsibilities.
  • Adhering to USCG Vessel standards and Rules of the Road for day-to-day operation.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Waterborne vessel inspections.
  • Refueling operations equipment inspections.
  • Refueling and maintain voltages of operational and non-operational waterborne patrol vessels.
  • Assisting USCG with waterborne investigations within the Naval Protection Zone.
  • Assisting Law Enforcement with waterborne investigations within the Naval Protection Zone.
  • Keeping up with Client and Allied Universal assigned development courses for job performance and operational compliance.
  • Attending off-site mandatory training as directed.
  • Ability to perform mandatory overtime when requested.
  • Maintenance of overall vessel and workspace cleanliness.
Primary Competencies or Non-Negotiables:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a United States Citizen and Resident.
  • Must have a Clean driving Record
Additional Qualifications:
  • Has his/her own duty equipment such as duty belt, holster, duty weapon (firearm,) OC spray or baton.
  • Arrives to work; is on time and completes shift assignments (including overtime if assigned).
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
  • Has a neat, professional appearance and comes to work in complete and clean assigned uniform.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to operate in a professional manner.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills for phone and face-to-face interactions with departmental, corporate, and external personnel.
  • Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site.
  • Must have met all requirements for employment from all authorities within all jurisdictions where that individual will provide services.
  • Must have met all requirements for employment as a Security Professional from all authorities within all jurisdictions where that individual will provide services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing at a high school level.
  • Must be literate to the extent that they are able to read and comprehend printed instructions, written orders, written procedures, and training instruction at a high school level.
  • Must be able to compose written reports which convey complete information utilizing adequate sentence structure, composition, and rules of English grammar at a high school level.
  • Must have the ability to use a computer and various office and security-related software. Must possess skills necessary to operate BAE Systems software and hardware in performance of their duties.
  • Must be physically able to accomplish his/her assigned work, which includes but is not limited to, walking, extensive use of stairs, standing, patrolling, assisting disabled person, responding to emergencies, etc. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must not have been removed from any Allied Universal location at the request of any of Allied Universal’s clients for any reason.
  • Must not have been removed from BAE Systems location for any reason while employed by any previous security service provider.
  • No criminal convictions as specified under Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Successful completion of Allied Universal’s New Employee Orientation exam and BAE Systems pre-training materials.
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 Lbs.
  • Must be able to negotiate vertical ladders of 5ft. and above.
