Job description

Pediatric Neurologist | Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Join an established pediatric neurology program in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a collaborative team, specialty clinic resources, and a balanced mix of outpatient care and inpatient rounding focused exclusively on pediatric patients.

Position Highlights

  • Pediatric neurology team with three full-time pediatric neurologists, one part-time pediatric neurologist, APP support, and dedicated nursing staff
  • 100% pediatric neurology practice with no adult coverage
  • Blend of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding responsibilities
  • Access to a Level 3 EMU, on-site EEG capabilities, and specialty clinics including Botox/spasticity, neurodevelopmental, and new-onset seizure clinics
  • 1:4 call rotation with intentionally lighter clinic volume on scheduled call days
  • Clinic volume typically 10-15 patients per day with inpatient census commonly 5-6 patients
  • Protected administrative time of one day per week, which can be split into two half-days
Schedule

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
  • Inpatient rounding blocks typically occur from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM and 2:00 PM-3:30 PM
Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Neurology
  • Open to new graduates and experienced physicians
  • Comfortable managing core pediatric neurology conditions including seizures/epilepsy, headaches, developmental delays, and genetic conditions
  • Ability to interpret EEGs preferred
  • Visa sponsorship may be available
