Description

Position Summary:

This is temporary, part-time position, which will be grant funded for 12 months.

Responsible for providing pharmacy services associated with the preparation and distribution of medications as well as maintaining patient and pharmacy records for statistical data in accordance with the requirements set forth by the federal, state and local laws and the polices of San Jose Clinic under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty.


DUITES AND RESPONSIBILILTIES:

  1. Assist Pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions in compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations
  2. Assist in ordering all drugs and biological; store them according to requirements
  3. Remove all outdated drugs from pharmacy shelves
  4. Assist in maintaining and managing the RX Assist Program under the supervision of the Pharmacy Coordinator by screening for eligibility, completion of applications, distribution of medications, storage and inventory of sample medications and providing physicians with information necessary for ordering medications
  5. Attend various department meetings as required
  6. Delivery of medical/pharmacy care in accordance with the Catholic Moral and Ethical Directives
  7. Follows all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and regulations, including assisting HIPAA and OSHA Officers in ensuring compliance
  8. Maintains confidentiality of patient information/records at all times
  9. Maintains established San Jose Clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
  10. Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the San Jose Clinic Mission and Code of Conduct and is supportive of San Jose Clinic cultural diversity objectives
  11. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school Diploma or equivalent and current Certified Pharmacy Technician or Trainee license required
  2. One year experience as a pharmacy technician/clerk in a "Class A" pharmacy setting required
  3. Can demonstrate excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking and effective use of time
  4. Able to handle and complete multiple tasks or projects with multiple deadlines
  5. Able to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently with public and all levels of the organization
  6. Able to operate computer, copier fax, and scanners
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, practice and pharmacy management system software applications, and electronic medical records
  8. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  9. Demonstrate effective customer relation skills, working with diverse populations, often in stressful fast paced environments
  10. Bilingual in English/Spanish required
