Amentum is supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Division's International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP). https://www.justice.gov/criminal-icitap.

ICITAP is a cornerstone of America's global strategy for combating transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons, establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries. Amentumis the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum, in partnership with ICITAP, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as an Aviation Infrastructure and Security Subject Matter Expert (SME). In this role, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of a specialized aviation infrastructure and security curriculum for host nation partners. The training will focus on airport operations, airspace risk management, and the implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop comprehensive, classroom-based courses utilizing federal aviation security standards.
  • Adapt and tailor U.S. best practices for aviation security curricula, lesson plans, and training modules to fit the specific legal authorities, operational environments, language requirements, and current capability levels of diverse Host Nation partners.
  • Instruct partners on identifying, assessing, and neutralizing security risks within commercial and civilian airspace, with a heavy emphasis on mitigating UAS/drone threats
  • Design practical frameworks and case studies regarding airspace risk management and threat mitigation strategies.
  • Execute short-term Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to partner nations to directly deliver workshops and facilitate practical exercises.
  • Write and submit timely, high-quality technical reports, work plans, and post-travel assessments for project leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years in the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS), or similar field
  • Knowledgeable on Aviation Security
  • Demonstrated success in both administrative and operational management, as identified and outlined by prior supervisors.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working independently and within team environments.
  • Demonstrated excellence in problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to facilitate analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation activities, presentations, and reports.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects and timely submission of required reports.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven record of effective relationship building, both within and outside an organization.
  • Educational and senior management requirements may be substituted by additional years of law enforcement experience or overseas development experience.
  • Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diplomatic or Contractor experience working within an embassy environment.
  • Five years' experience managing training and development programs or projects.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing a program or project in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in criminal justice or a related field.
