****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or Instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The UXO sensor engineer will investigate, design, develop, prototype, and characterize UXO detection and classification sensor prototypes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in UXO detection and classification sensor technologies

Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering (or admission in the graduate program in electrical engineering in the next academic year)
  • One year of experience with UXO detection and classification technologies.
  • Two years of experience with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other microwave equipment.
  • Two years of experience in prototyping and characterization.
