Job description

A growing financial technology organization is seeking a Senior DevOps / Network Automation Engineer for a full-time opportunity based in Scottsdale, AZ, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, Wednesdays required). This role sits within the Network Engineering organization and focuses on network automation and infrastructure modernization across both cloud and on-prem environments using technologies like Terraform, Python, AWS, and CI/CD. This is a high-priority permanent hire supporting critical infrastructure transformation efforts.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys blending DevOps and networking. The team is specifically looking for someone who can bring automation and infrastructure-as-code practices into a traditionally network-heavy environment. You will play a key role in reducing manual processes, building scalable tooling, and improving how infrastructure changes are delivered. The work is highly visible and impactful, with strong collaboration across cloud, security, and platform teams, and offers long-term growth into advanced NetDevOps and infrastructure engineering initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or network engineering within enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python for scripting and automation
  • Experience building and maintaining infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Ansible
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments across AWS cloud and on-prem infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with structured data formats such as YAML, JSON, or XML
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, networking, and automation workflows

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in network automation or NetDevOps-focused roles
  • Experience building tools or frameworks for network device configuration
  • Exposure to load balancing technologies such as F5
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tooling
  • JavaScript or additional scripting experience
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as financial services
  • Cloud certifications or hands-on AWS networking experience

What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown

  • 40% Network Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Ansible
  • 30% Cloud and On-Prem Infrastructure including AWS and core network systems
  • 30% CI/CD, scripting, and internal tooling development using Python and Bash

Daily Responsibilities

  • 70% Hands-on engineering including automation development, infrastructure updates, and troubleshooting
  • 10% Design planning and process improvement across DevOps and network automation workflows
  • 20% Cross-functional collaboration with Network Engineering, Security, and Platform teams
