Job description

Native Floral is a leading manufacturer and distributor of fresh cut flower bouquets across the United States. Our mission is to provide our customers with the highest level of quality and service. We are currently hiring a Transportation Manager at our Lombard, IL facility.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Management of the entire transportation including dispatch, administration to include hiring, training and supervising.

2. Lead and direct a team of drivers (Class A/B/C)

3. Manage daily service requirements and customer relationships

4. Manage all transportation and logistics for shipments to and from customers

5. Monitor transportation costs and target areas that yield improvements and cost savings

6. Provide accurate and timely reports to our administration team

7. Oversight of temporary Contractors in all matters of safety and regulatory compliance; including mandated Safety and DOT Safety training programs, DOT logs, HOS records,

8. Oversight of the correct application and compliance with all operational procedures.

9. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and operational procedures and criteria in relation to of the employees, department, and facility.

10. Regularly review and manage the department’s performance to meet budgetary goals via the information provided by monthly profit and loss statements and to work within company guidelines to achieve desired department performance results.

11. To develop and foster an overall feeling of teamwork, efficiency, and excellent customer service among the employees and fellow managers.

12. Make sure all fleet maintenance programs are current

13. Accounts for all shipments via a weekly service report.

14. Analyze and distribute operational reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, and take action based on the results of the analysis.

Education & Experience

· Minimum 2-3 years of transportation or logistics experience. Prior management experience preferred.

· Prior experience working with company drivers preferred

- Must have a CDL Class A license

- Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Products)

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate workforce

- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations

- Knowledge of e-Log systems daily/HOS record and utilizing GPS tracking system

- Must be versed on safety and compliance issues

- Must be available for flexible work shift

- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment
