Are you energetic, engaging, and passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for children and families?


Miami Children's Museum is looking for a Museum Playologist to help us spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and create magical moments every single day. Playologists are responsible for guiding tours through the galleries, conducting educational activities for museum visitors, engaging visitors in Museum galleries, sanitizing exhibit props, and maintaining exhibit floor upkeep.


This isn't just a floor position - it's an opportunity to make every child feel like a genius and every grown-up feel like a kid again!


What You'll Do

  • Facilitate daily museum activities with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Lead group tours through the galleries, ensuring tours have a safe and educational experience
  • Promote a fun, positive, and educational visitor experience while interacting with guests on the floors.
  • Ensure safety in the galleries, reporting spills or potential hazards to facilities team.
  • Maintain exhibit supplies and cleanliness, reporting broken or damaged exhibit pieces/props and ensure they are properly relocated to be repaired.
  • Occasionally assume the persona of the Museum character mascot "MiChiMu" and convey emotions, energy, and enthusiasm through exaggerated movements, gestures, and body language.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Some experience working with children aged birth to grade five.
  • Ability to manage large groups of children at once.
  • Flexible, patient, and good rapport with the public.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, responsible, and timely.
  • Previous informal education experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
