The Division of Emergency/ Trauma in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, University of Miami Health System and Leonard Miller School of Medicine, is seeking a fellowship-trained candidate for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor in the clinical educator track.
The University offers a competitive salary relative to academia which is enhanced by an attractive benefits package, including tuition reimbursement packages. Minimum and maximum salary range reflects base compensation.
The successful applicant will join a faculty of more than 70 clinical radiologists who are involved in imaging at multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital (a primary, tertiary, and quaternary care County hospital) and from the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Interpret Neuro, abdominal, and chest Imaging (body CTs, chest CTs, Neuro CTs, plain films), MR imaging of the body/ Neuro and diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Take overnight call at UMH or at other locations as required.
  • Supervise performance of technical personnel.
  • Cover UMH, UMHC, Lennar and other satellites remotely from UHT; however, coverage at other areas may be necessary.
  • Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of emergency imaging and diagnostic radiology.
  • Provide diagnostic imaging consultations as requested.
  • Provide emergency patient care related to imaging as required in the setting of a radiology practice.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities related to the practice of emergency imaging and diagnostic imaging.
  • Participation in the advancement and education of diagnostic radiology medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Serve on Departmental and University committees as requested by the Chair.
  • Accept assignments as determined by the department Chair.

Thus, the incumbent will be expected to participate in didactic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and attend and actively participate in seminars and other educational lectures. Teaching also includes participating in the supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows who are involved in direct patient care. As a faculty member, we also anticipate that you will actively participate - attending meetings, Grand Rounds, and other University scholarly activities.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Medical Degree
  • Diagnostic Radiology Residency
  • Abdominal/ Body Imaging, MSK, Neuro or Emergency Fellowship

Certification and Licensing:
  • American Board of Radiology Certified or Board Eligible
  • Florida Medical License or Eligible

Experience:
  • Competitive applicants will have completed at least 1 year of dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Abdominal/ Body Imaging, MSK, Neuro or Emergency Radiology.
  • Prior experience in a university faculty setting preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Interpret Neuro, abdominal, and chest Imaging (body CTs, chest CTs, Neuro CTs, plain films), MR imaging of the body/ Neuro and diagnostic ultrasound.
  • In addition to the rich clinical experience, faculty will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
