Job description

Motion Graphics Designer
AKA NYC is a global, award-winning, full-service advertising agency specializing in theater & live entertainment, arts & culture, attractions & destinations, and sports & leisure. We are content-forward and data-fueled with a proven record of delivering cross-platform campaigns that get results.
We are proud to partner with some of the most iconic names in entertainment, culture, and live experiences. Our client roster includes Broadway's biggest shows, world-renowned institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, vibrant attractions such as The New York Botanical Garden, and dynamic sports organizations like the Harlem Globetrotters. From the magic of live theatre to the energy of stadiums and the wonder of cultural landmarks, we craft campaigns that connect audiences with real experiences - providing real stories, real emotions and real connections.
We're looking for a Motion Graphic Designer to join our content and creative team. This role is ideal for a highly creative motion designer with strong visual storytelling skills, technical expertise, and a passion for entertainment and culture. The Motion Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with Creative Directors and content producers to develop engaging motion content across multiple platforms and activations.
What You'll Do
  • Create visually compelling motion graphics and animations across a variety of campaigns and projects
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors and content producers to develop concepts, storyboards, and creative solutions
  • Design and produce 2D and 3D motion assets for digital, social, experiential, and branded content
  • Maintain consistency across visual style, storytelling, and brand guidelines throughout projects
  • Stay current on motion design trends, emerging technologies, and AI tools
  • Take ownership of projects from concept through final delivery while meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Adapt quickly to client feedback and revisions while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For
  • 3-5 years of experience in motion graphics, animation, or related creative roles; entertainment experience is a plus
  • Strong demo reel or portfolio showcasing creative motion design and storytelling capabilities
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Experience creating 2D and 3D motion graphics across multiple platforms and formats
  • Strong understanding of design principles including typography, composition, color, and visual storytelling
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage projects independently from concept to completion in a fast-paced creative environment

WHAT WE OFFER:
The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $80,000 to $105,000 per year.
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. A discretionary bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package. AKA also offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and balance, including:
