Job description

Radiology Transcription Editor

Under general supervision, edits a variety of dictations involving a substantial amount of medical radiological terminology and audits finalized reports for quality assurance.

Core Competencies

  • Edits Radiology reports from PowerScribe with attention to context, grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Transcribes radiology reports into Radnet and/or PowerScribe using information provided by faxed worksheet and/or data off PACS system.
  • Puts reports in holding queue for Transcription Manager to review and questions Radiologist for accuracy.
  • Understands the relationship between all interfaces: Powerscribe (both client and portal), Radnet, PACS System and Powerchart.
  • Communicates with outside service via email or telephone and provides instruction as needed
  • Audits finalized reports in between reports during downtime.
  • Maintains and updates the audit file daily.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to Radiology Transcription Manager.
  • Prints and edits reports as requested by Radiology Transcription Manager and returns back in requested time.
  • Checks all work lists (Draft, Corrected (S), and Final (S)) at beginning and end of shift.
