Job description

Position: Maintenance Mechanic
Work Location: Buckeye AZ 85326
Payrate: $23/hr
Duration: 3+ Months temp to hire role
Shift: 7am – 3pm - on call hours needed on weekends
Dress Code: jeans, T-shirt, dress according to the weather

Job Description:

  • Inspect work for completion and accuracy.
  • Schedule shift employees while meeting production schedule.
  • Ensure parts are ordered against work orders.
  • Keep track of daily events through End of Shift Report.
  • Performs maintenance in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency basis:
  • Mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, Building repairs and cleaning
  • Moves, sets, calibrates, as needed, controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, vacuum, time, and chemicals, automatic regulation and remote control of processing units, such as heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizers, compressors, exchangers, and other units.
  • Determines malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns.
  • Inspects equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as leaks, breakages and faulty valves.
  • Patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
  • Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Make daily inspections of mill areas looking and listening for any abnormal sounds or smells.
  • Work with the plant manager on obtaining the best prices for maintenance materials.
  • Perform safety walkthroughs on a regular basis to ensure all guarding and other safety devices remain in place.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience with industrial dryers, hammer mills, extruders, and bucket elevators preferred.
  • Previous lead experience preferred.
