Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about applying data science, analytics and engineering to real-world problems in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in business intelligence tools for data visualization and reporting, as well as hands-on experience in operational testing and/or developmental testing environments. This role requires a strategic-level thinker who can apply advanced analytical methods to solve complex problems and communicate actionable recommendations effectively to stakeholders.

The selected candidate will work at our office either in Killeen, Texas, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. The person in this role is responsible for designing and implementing solutions that automate critical functions of the organizations strategic planning process. This role will leverage advanced analytics, data engineering, and operations research methodologies to streamline decision-making, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource allocation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to pioneer the application of data analytic techniques to test and evaluation, strategy development, and capability evaluation. In this role, the candidate must be able to conceptualize solutions, convey complex topics to a wide range of audiences, define capability roadmaps, and apply new technologies to meet emerging customer needs. The candidate must be able to work extensively with cross-functional teams to achieve customer and corporate goals.

What Youll Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the customer to define requirements.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data to help solve complex problems and inform strategic planning.
  • Identify data sources, engineer data pipelines, and develop data storage solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualization products to communicate complex information to disparate audiences.
  • Use statistical and computational techniques to analyze data trends, patterns, and relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute the automation of a strategic investment roadmap.
  • Lead the development and execution of advanced analytical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Less than 25% travel may be required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (data science, engineering, mathematics, science, computer science).
  • Position requires five or more years of related professional experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, or U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • Strong data science, data analytics, and/or data engineering background and thorough knowledge of statistics and mathematics.
  • Expertise in data analysis and visualization using languages like Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization software like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Experience with data management platforms like ADVANA, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical and operational problems independently within a team setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with DoD systems and processes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (data science, engineering, mathematics, science, computer science).
  • Background in developmental or operational testing.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL, and similar data engineering processes.
  • Experience with Agile processes and solutions like GitLab or Jira.
  • Experience with version control software like Git.
  • Experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Experience in using cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) for data analytics and reporting.
  • Knowledge of military or defense data systems (e.g., DAVE, PRMT, GFEBS, and ARES).
