Job description

Acuren is currently hiring a Collections Clerk I to monitor customer accounts, follow up on overdue balances and support the timely collection of outstanding receivables.

The successful candidate will work with customers to resolve billing concerns, confirm payment commitments and maintain accurate collection records while supporting positive customer relationships. 

  • Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta
  • Contract: Temporary position for approximately two to three months

  • Review customer accounts and identify overdue balances
  • Contact customers by phone and email regarding outstanding payments
  • Follow up on payment commitments and approved payment arrangements
  • Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and account concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activity and customer correspondence
  • Escalate unresolved or delinquent accounts as required
  • Prepare basic collection and account-status reports
  • Work with internal teams to address issues delaying payment
  • Complete collection activities in accordance with company policies and deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of collections or accounts receivable experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and accounts receivable practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable conducting collection calls and discussing overdue balances
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with an ERP or accounting system would be considered an asset
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration would be considered an asset
