Position: Lead Systems Technician

Summary of Responsibilities

As a Lead System Technician, you'll be the senior person on job sites—running installations, mentoring junior techs, and making sure projects get done right. You'll work on everything from security cameras and access control to conference room AV systems. No two days are the same, and you'll need to be comfortable working independently, problem-solving on the fly, and representing Pacific Low Voltage with professionalism. 

Compensation

  • $34.00–$40.00+ per hour (depending on experience)
  • Full Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, Generous PTO & Paid Holidays.  
  • Company vehicle provided after introductory period (typically 90 days. 
  • Company shirts, hats, and branded apparel provided. 
  • Support for advanced training and a clear path for career advancement.  

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on low voltage system, telecommunications, and security installation experience 
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications 
  • Valid California Driver's License (clean driving record) 
  • Required tools (must have or be willing to provide): basic hand tools, strippers & crimpers, cordless drill, toner, multimeter, tool belt/bag, extension cords, 3' level, cable pulling/fishing tools, gloves etc.  
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor 
  • Physically capable – lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing ladders, working in various environments 
  • Available for occasional overtime, night shifts, or weekend work when client schedules require it 

Essential Functions

  • Perform scope of work audits to confirm all materials are available before project start 
  • Prepare action plans and coordinate work with project managers, clients, and site superintendents 
  • Install infrastructure cabling, access control, surveillance, intrusion, and AV systems at the highest level 
  • Configure, program, and maintain low voltage systems 
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems during service calls 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specification sheets 
  • Mentor and guide junior technicians and temporary workers on site 
  • Complete end-of-day duties including cleanup, weather protection, and tool/material security 
  • Travel to customer sites throughout Ventura, LA, and Santa Barbara counties
