Job description

Materials & Logistics Specialist – Temporary
Location: Pittsboro, NC
Pay: $25.00/hour
Employment Type: Temporary

We are seeking an experienced Materials & Logistics Specialist for a temporary opportunity with one of our clients in the medical device manufacturing industry. This position will support day-to-day material movement, shipping and receiving, inventory control, procurement, and logistics activities to help maintain an efficient production flow.


Responsibilities
  • Support Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Distribution, and Material Handling operations.
  • Supply raw materials to production areas and restock warehouse inventory following production runs.
  • Accurately pick materials according to required revisions and lot numbers.
  • Process inbound and outbound shipments to support production schedules.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed and coordinate with carriers including UPS and FedEx.
  • Maintain shipping logs and update inventory/MRP systems.
  • Enter incoming inventory accurately and complete required documentation.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory counts, and material adjustments.
  • Track production lots through invoicing.
  • Issue work orders and routers based on production schedules.
  • Purchase production supplies as needed.
  • Assist with inventory issues and warehouse space management.
  • Support international shipping documentation.
  • Transport materials between warehouses when applicable.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow, inventory accuracy, and reducing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or two years of technical school.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with shipping software and systems such as UPS and FedEx.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Clean driving record if operating a company road vehicle is required.
  • Experience maintaining safety logs or supporting driving safety compliance is preferred.
