Job description

Diamond T Services is looking for a qualified general laborer to join our right-of-way mowing, maintenance, and landscape team. Reports to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day site & facility operational tasks as directed. Work consists of, but is not limited to, hand trimming, litter removal, litter transport and disposal, vegetation removal, temporary sign placement and hazard identification for mowers. Is responsible for general maintenance and safe operation of equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating hand-held mowing equipment and other hand tools necessary for the job
  • Follow site safety and operating procedures.
  • Digging trenches and backfill holes to prepare for the construction site.
  • Litter removal and disposal
  • Help identify hazards in the right-of-way for mowing team.
  • Following instructions from construction managers and supervisors
  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite
  • Taking apart or constructing matting, bracing and other temporary structures for the construction site
  • Assisting other workers with their duties, if needed
  • Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with corporate policies & procedures and within permit conditions.
  • Reports on all incidents and participates in investigating incidents as directed.

Physical Responsibilities:

  • Frequently ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Lift and carry 55 pounds.
  • Operate heavy tools and equipment day and night.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • 1 year experience in construction is preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required
  • A valid driver's license and clean MVR
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold depending on location
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively both written and verbally
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills are required
