We are seeking a Software Engineer to join Zions Bancorporation. The Software Engineer plays a key role in modernizing our critical platforms and driving our cloud-native transition. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the bank's core infrastructure by ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for our enterprise systems. You will collaborate with talented engineering teams to design, automate, and support cutting-edge infrastructure solutions that shape the future of our financial services.

The Software Engineer will:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure and containerized systems.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Administer and support Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, and core networking components.
  • Develop solutions and system integrations using Python, Java, and RESTful APIs.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform, to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues.
  • Monitor system performance, ensure platform stability, and manage configurations for firewalls, F5, and DNS.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, another related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with systems engineering and support, systems analysis, programming, or other directly related experience with web sites and web application development. (A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications).
  • Strong hands-on experience with development, deployment, and containerization tools, such as Maven, Git, uDeploy, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, Java), alongside solid Linux Server Administration skills.
  • Deep familiarity with CI/CD concepts, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and team-based platforms (Atlassian, ADO, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of core infrastructure and networking concepts including Containers, Firewalls, F5, DNS, APIs, and Clustering within a Cloud environment.
  • Proven ability to creatively identify and solve problems while independently managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable systems.

This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT
