Job description

Job Description: Mechanical Test Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of motors and motor-driven systems, which will ultimately drive large linear actuators used in aerospace and military applications. This role focuses on motor testing, fixture design, and dynamometer testing, ensuring motors perform as expected before being integrated into higher-level assemblies. The engineer will design and build test stands, assemble fixtures, execute tests, and document results, working closely with Electrical Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build motor test fixtures and test stands.
  • Perform motor and motor-controller testing.
  • Support dynamometer testing in high-speed and high-load applications.
  • Apply GD&T to fixtures and convert 3D CAD models into detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
  • Conduct motor and mechanical analysis.
  • Validate designs through testing and troubleshooting.
  • Design and implement safety mechanisms, including safety shielding and emergency stop systems.
  • Document test setups, results, and findings.
  • Support multiple test programs simultaneously.

This is a Contract position based out of Niles, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
