These nurses provide specialized care for moderately ill or premature newborns who need close monitoring but do not require the highest level of intensive care. To thrive as a Temporary Level 2 NICU Travel Nurse, you need a current RN license, neonatal resuscitation certification (NRP), and specialized experience caring for moderately ill newborns. Familiarity with neonatal monitoring equipment, intravenous therapy, and electronic health record systems is typically required. Excellent adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills help you quickly integrate into new environments and support both families and healthcare teams. These competencies are crucial for maintaining high standards of care and ensuring patient safety in diverse, fast-paced NICU settings.
