Summary

We are seeking a Technical Lead (Java, AWS & Full Stack Development) to join our team on 1 year fixed-term. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions while providing technical leadership to development teams.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in AWS cloud technologies, Java, Angular and/or React, microservices, and system integration, combined with experience leading distributed teams and driving delivery across the software development lifecycle. This role requires a hands-on leader who can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, create architecture and design documentation, and ensure successful project execution.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Produce and maintain High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), API specifications, and integration design documentation.
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging AWS cloud services and modern architecture patterns.
  • Define system interfaces, integration approaches, API contracts, and data flow designs across internal and external applications.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead solution delivery through all phases of the SDLC including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, architectural principles, and best practices.
  • Resolve technical risks, challenges, and blockers impacting project delivery.
  • Support project estimation, planning, roadmap development, and technical decision-making.
  • Drive adoption of engineering best practices, automation, cloud-native development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate distributed development teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead role.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions on AWS.
  • Strong experience producing HLDs, LLDs, API specifications, and integration design documentation.
  • Hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular and/or React.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system integration patterns.
  • Experience leading distributed or geographically dispersed development teams.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud-native development, and enterprise application design.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams to drive project outcomes.

It would be great for you to have some of these nice to haves as well:

  • Experience within Banking, Insurance, or Financial Services environments.
  • AWS certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integrations.

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
