Job description

Purchasing & Materials Coordinator 
  • $25ph+ (based on experience) 
  • 1st shift, Monday - Friday 
  • Located ONSITE in Manitowoc, WI 
  • Temporary - could become permanent for the right candidate 

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional to support purchasing, inventory, receiving, and shipping activities within a manufacturing environment. This position will help ensure materials and supplies are available when needed for production while maintaining accurate inventory and purchasing records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source materials and supplies, obtain quotes, and place purchase orders.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery, and quality.
  • Expedite orders as needed to meet production schedules.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and terms and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, inventory, and item master records.
  • Review invoices and resolve pricing, receiving, or quantity discrepancies.
  • Receive, inspect, identify, and properly store incoming materials.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and year-end inventory.
  • Track material locations, usage, returns, credits, and replacements.
  • Prepare packing lists, shipping documentation, receiving reports, and material records.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments using efficient and cost-effective shipping methods.

  • Previous purchasing, inventory, materials, or supply chain experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Associate degree in Materials Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with computerized purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship skills.
  • Ability to prioritize changing production and material needs.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to obtain required training.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with multiple departments
