Job description

As part of a development technology team, the Senior Full Stack Developer is responsible for designing and building Chat Bot features that integrates with multiple applications that connect with Raymond James’ agentic systems. This individual will develop solutions that allow our Chat Bot to work within the context of another application.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in modern React (including React 19)Java 17+, and modern full stack engineering practices. The individual will use AI-assisted development techniques to produce rapidhigh-quality results across design, coding, testing, documentation, debugging, and delivery.

This individual participates in the full systems life cycle, including analysis, solution design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support. The role also provides technical leadership, mentors other developers, and partners with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, maintainable, and scalable enterprise solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements, technical requirements, and system interactions across impacted applications, components, and subsystems.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and support scalable full stack applications using React, Java, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Senior development efforts for assigned projects, including solution design, task assignment, code reviews, technical guidance, and delivery coordination.
  • Build responsive, maintainable front-end applications using React 19, TypeScript, component-based design, and modern UI development practices.
  • Develop secure and performant backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot or comparable Java frameworks, RESTful APIs, and enterprise service patterns.
  • Apply AI-assisted development practices to accelerate software delivery, including code generation, refactoring, unit test creation, documentation, debugging, and developer workflow optimization.
  • Evaluate and apply AI-driven engineering tools responsibly while ensuring security, compliance, maintainability, and code quality standards are met.
  • Partner with architecture, product owners, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and other technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Recommend new technologies, frameworks, tools, and methodologies to improve delivery, quality, automation, and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, production support, and remediation of complex application issues.
  • Review system specifications, technical designs, code, test results, and implementation plans.
  • Ensure proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to reduce rework, production defects, and schedule slippage.
  • Promote engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, secure coding, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern React, including React 19.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices, including practical use of AI to support coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and software delivery.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
  • Experience with modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern front-end architecture.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, build tools, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, application performance, maintainability, and production support.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work independently and provide direction to other developers.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience building or integrating agentic workflows, AI-enabled automation, LLM-powered applications, or intelligent developer/productivity workflows.
  • Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging platforms, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with observability tools, logging, monitoring, and application performance management.
  • Experience with enterprise authentication and authorization patterns.
  • Experience leading Agile development teams or serving as a technical lead on complex initiatives.
  • Experience with application modernization, legacy system integration, or large-scale enterprise implementations.
  • Experience with Google Chrome Extension development and deployment.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of software development or engineering experience, including significant full stack application development experience.
