Job description

Title: Temporary – Tutors, All Campuses (Pool)

POSITION SUMMARY
To provide academic support for students enrolled in a variety of courses, such as Accounting, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Computer applications and programs (Java, HTML, C++), Pre-calculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Statistics, Physics, Algebra, English and Economics. Technology tutors are also sought to assist students with digital course tools and learning systems, including but not limited to D2L, Outlook 365, and Zoom.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates the learning process for students seeking additional support outside of the classroom. Works in both one-on-one and small-group settings. Maintains knowledge in all subjects tutored. Records all session notes using the TutorTrac system.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
For applicants with a degree, an associate’s degree or higher in the discipline or related field or demonstrated expertise in subject matter content.

For student applicants, a B or higher in the course subject and recommendations from two college-level instructors, current or former.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous tutoring experience

For student applicants, an A in the course subject

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience working with a variety of learning styles. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Rate of Pay: $16.50 per hour

Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week

AVAILABILITY/CLOSING DATE
