Description

Seeking a Kibana Dashboard Software Engineer to support the Innovations Group on the GSM-O II Program as a member of the End-to-End Visualization Team. Candidates must be within driving distance of Scott AFB. A Secret clearance is required at the start of employment, and Security+ certification must be obtained within 14 days.

As a key team member, you will work in a fast-paced Agile environment to architect, design, and develop a unified User Experience / User Interface (UX/UI) that delivers a single-pane-of-glass solution on the Kibana platform. You will collaborate with operational end users and support teams to gather requirements and develop UI mockups and wireframes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and usability

• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights

• Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Kibana

• Apply UI/UX design principles (visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color, accessibility)

• Translate analytical results into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business and operational requirements

• Maintain and refine data transformation pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability

• Develop self-service analytics tools and reusable data assets

• Document data models, business logic, and workflows

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline with 2+ years of related experience

• 1+ year of experience designing and deploying dashboards using the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats)

• 2+ years of UX/UI design and development experience, including wireframing and architecture diagrams

• Experience with Python, Java, and SQL; working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript

• Experience with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket

• Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance prior to start

• Ability to obtain Security+ (or equivalent IAT II certification) within 60 days

• Ability to commute to Ft. Meade, MD; Hill AFB, UT; or Scott AFB, IL for onsite work

• Experience working in fast-paced, technical, Agile environments

• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Elastic Stack for data analysis and visualization

• Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Grafana)

• Experience building self-service analytics solutions

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence)

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies

• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices

• Experience documenting data models and transformation processes

• Experience in DoD or DISA environments (preferred)

• Understanding of network devices and configurations

• Experience with text mining, search, and entity extraction (ELK Stack)

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and containerized pipelines

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (including AWS GovCloud)

• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe)

• Experience working with distributed teams

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr.
