Job Description
The ISR Tactical Controller serves as the Joint Intelligence Support Element's focal point for the real-time control and deconfliction of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets supporting Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere. The role prioritizes and deconflicts asset tasking across competing requirements so that collection stays matched to the commander's intent through both dynamic and deliberate operations against drug trafficking organizations in the area of responsibility. This role requires rotating shift coverage to maintain 24/7 operational support.
Every day, HII helps U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) and its mission partners stay ahead of evolving threats by delivering the intelligence, technology, and operational expertise needed to protect U.S. interests across the Western Hemisphere.
This requisition supports hiring multiple positions and experience levels. Final placement will be determined based on the selected applicant's qualifications, experience, and skill sets.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the JISE focal point for real-time synchronization of ISR assets and of processing, exploitation and dissemination activity supporting JTF-WHEM.
  • Prioritize and deconflict asset tasking across competing collection requirements, making the call when two valid requirements want the same sensor at the same time.
  • Provide specific sensor direction to tasked assets from before on-station time through the end of the collection window, adapting as targets develop.
  • Execute dynamic retasking and cross-cueing of air, maritime and ground collection assets against emerging priority intelligence requirements.
  • Maintain the current ISR picture for the watch floor and keep the supported command informed of asset status, coverage gaps, and shortfalls.
  • Translate the commander's intent and evolving blkhg]6rfjectives into an ISR integration plan, and shift the weight of collection effort as operations change.
  • Coordinate with collection managers, PED crews, mission partners and asset operators to keep tasking, exploitation and reporting synchronized.
  • Support both deliberate planning and time-sensitive dynamic operations, including handoffs across shifts on a 24 hour, 7 day watch.
  • Produce turnover, shift, and post-mission documentation capturing tasking decisions, collection achieved, and unfilled requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to ISR tasking processes, tools, and battle rhythm.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Military or contractor experience in ISR operations, collection management, or ISR tactical control.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deconflict competing collection requirements under time pressure.
  • Working knowledge of airborne, maritime and ground ISR sensors and of what each can and cannot deliver.
  • Experience on a 24 hour watch floor or operations center, including shift turnover.
  • Familiarity with collection management and ISR tasking tools and with tactical chat as a primary coordination channel.
  • Clear and concise communication with operators, analysts, and senior leadership.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Preferred Requirements
  • Graduation from an ISR Tactical Controller course within the past five years.
  • Experience supporting counternarcotics or counter threat network operations.
  • Prior experience with SOUTHCOM, JIATF-South, or another combatant command intelligence element.
  • Experience in a Distributed Ground Station, Joint Intelligence Support Element, or combined air operations center ISR division.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
