Job description


If you are a skilled Inventory Control person looking to grow your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Olive Branch, MS, you will be a part of Emerson's operations team. The Inventory Control Cycle Counter will safely and efficiently handle materials throughout the warehouse, work within the Returns department, and will be responsible for light assembly, breakdown/process customer returns, and warehouse re-boxing. In addition, stocking incoming items, performing replenishments, using powered equipment such as order selectors and reach trucks. You'll play a key part in maintaining productivity and ensuring our operations run smoothly within the distribution center.
1st Shift 6:00am to 2:30pm
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through research and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production and distribution activities.
  • Compile and maintain records concerning quantities, costs, and types of materials received, shipped, stored, and in production.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure inventory movements are accurately reflected in warehouse management systems.
  • Expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Assist in identifying potential and actual material shortages and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Production, and Engineering teams to resolve inventory-related issues and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Estimate and track production rates and time expenditures as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Support inventory audits and physical inventory activities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating stand-up forklifts reach truck and or order selector trucks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Forklift certified or previously certified; willing to obtain onsite certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform regular inventory counts, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials as needed.
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, push and pull for shift all product/carton weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
