Title: SAP MM Solution Consultant
Location: Waukegan, IL
Duration: 10 Months with possible extension

Travel: Not expected initially; optional and project-dependent in the future

Job Description
Client is seeking an experienced professional to manage medium and large SAP projects, with a strong focus on financial systems and business transformation. The role requires a seasoned SAP MM Consultant with 10+ years of experience in end-to-end SAP implementation, rollout, and optimization projects. Prior experience working in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is highly desirable. The candidate will be responsible for driving solution design, ensuring process standardization, and partnering closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
 
Role Context
  • Reason role is open: Backfill for a contractor who exited.
  • Projects: Supports multiple large and small SAP projects (20+ active).
  • Typical day: SAP MM configuration, functional design specs, testing, stakeholder collaboration, documentation.
  • Work breakdown: Heavy documentation (~50%), meetings ~4–5 hrs/week, remainder project/configuration work.
  • Interactions: Cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, technical developers.
  • 90-day success: Understand business processes, independently design/configure in SAP, collaborate with dev teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as SAP MM Solution Consultant / Lead to deliver end-to-end medium to large projects, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
  • Act as a subject matter expert for SAP Material Management and Procurement processes, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure integration consistency between SAP MM and other SAP modules (e.g., FICO, SD, PP, PS) as well as external and boundary systems
  • Procurement and Purchasing Processes 
  • Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders 
  • Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Vendor Management 
  • Inventory Management and Physical Inventory 
  • Goods Receipt and Goods Issue Processing 
  • Material Master Data Management 
  • Source Determination and Vendor Evaluation 
  • Subcontracting, Consignment, and Stock Transport Orders 
  • Invoice Verification and Integration with FI
Key Procurement Experience Required:
  • Purchasing

Required Skills
  • Advanced SAP MM experience (10+ years).
  • Strong understanding of Materials Management / Purchasing and integration with other SAP modules.
  • Hands-on configuration, documentation, and testing experience.
Required Skill -Tool / Technology / System/Depth of Experience (Basic / Intermediate / Advanced)- What the candidate must be able to do
  • SAP MM Functional Consultant - SAP ECC, Solution Manager, HPQC, ServiceNow - Advanced -  Design,Document,Build,Test,Deploy
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager, testing/documentation tools.
  • Pharma or regulated industry experience (nice-to-have).
