JOB SUMMARY
Sort, wash and clean guest and employee laundry and dry cleaning and hotel linens.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
โ€ข Operate equipment necessary to sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron, fold and package guest laundry and dry cleaning, employee clothing and uniforms and hotel linen.
โ€ข Log, tag and package guest and employee clothing and uniforms.
โ€ข Iron and fold guest room and Food & Beverage flat work.
โ€ข Pick up from and deliver to guest rooms and uniforms room all clothing which is in need of cleaning or has been cleaned.
โ€ข Maintain an acceptable state of cleanliness and organization throughout the entire work area.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
โ€ข Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
โ€ข Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
โ€ข Assist other housekeeping employees in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas.
โ€ข Additional duties as necessary and assigned.
Requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
โ€ข Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like laundry rooms (+110ยฐF), possibly for one hour or more.
โ€ข Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
โ€ข Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments and areas of the hotel on a timely basis.
โ€ข Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
โ€ข Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
โ€ข Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
โ€ข Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
โ€ข Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
โ€ข Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
โ€ข Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
AVAILABILITY
This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed work day, to include Holidays, or time of work if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determines the amount of hours that you work.
In accordance with Illinois law, the compensation and benefits for this position are as follows:
Pay Range:
$16.00 per hour
Compensation within this range will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
