This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.

Position Summary:

This position is part of the NBA Social & Digital Content team which focuses on identifying, creating, distributing and publishing content to the NBA's social and digital platforms and its many domestic and international partners throughout the world. As the demand for content on the NBA's social platforms continues to grow, this is your opportunity to grow with us in a fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment, reaching social followers around the world. This is a project employee position.

The ideal candidate is an active consumer of Instagram and knows all the platform features, the latest trends and how to create content for the platform and its many content placements. This candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NBA and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards and consuming short and long form content about the NBA.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Publish content to the NBA's Instagram pages by uploading video or still imagery with copy, tags and additional publishing details (such as location, shopping features, paid partnership information, Collabs, etc.) during real-time game coverage and for additional content franchises.
  • This may include publishing real-time content and scheduling content.
  • Assist with content planning for Reels, Carousels, Stories, Broadcast Channels and more
  • Review content metrics and implement platform feedback to optimize content performance
  • Monitor NBA team and player Instagram pages for amplification on the NBA's Instagram pages
  • Monitor trends on the platform
  • Ability to assist with similar publishing responsibilities on additional Meta platforms (Facebook, Threads, etc.) or other NBA social platforms when needed

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Instagram at an expert level (including platform trends, how to publish, how to review metrics, etc.) and understands the way fans consume NBA content on the platform.
  • Additionally, has an understanding of how to use other Meta platforms and tools (Facebook, Threads, WhatsApp, Meta Quest, etc.).
  • Must have experience publishing to Instagram or similar social content platform for a sports brand or media organization.
  • Knowledge of the NBA at an expert level with a strong understanding of the storylines surroundings its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings, history of the league and the league's calendar of events.
  • Watches and consumes NBA basketball content on a daily and nightly basis.
  • Strong editorial background in basketball, basketball culture and other extensions of the game
  • Good understanding of the NBA's social voice
  • Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detailoriented approach, as well as perform in a fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks
  • Ability to execute detailed feedback
  • Strong communication, organization and project management skills
  • Must be a team player who can work collaboratively
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as this position may include working days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the NBA calendar

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field preferred

Salary Range:

$2,307.69/biweekly
